Marathon Duos Mode Test (2026): Dates, Rules & What to Expect
15 March 2026
Marathon is running a limited-time Duos mode test in 2026, letting two-player teams drop in together instead of the usual squad size.
Smaller teams change the pace. With fewer guns per team, fights are deadlier and positioning matters more. Extraction timing becomes a careful read rather than a group rush.
The test window is short, so if you want to try it, plan your sessions around the published dates rather than assuming it will stick around.
- Expect deadlier fights — two players punish mistakes faster.
- Prioritise extraction reads over aggressive third-partying.
- Communicate constantly; with two players, information is everything.
Duos is an excellent format for practising clean two-person communication, which is exactly the kind of habit that carries back into full squads afterward.
