How Coaching Helps You Break Bad Habits
15 de julio de 2026
Every player has habits they do not notice. You might reload too early, rotate without checking information, chase low-value fights, overuse abilities, or go quiet when the match becomes tense.
The difficult part is that bad habits often feel comfortable. They are the decisions you make automatically, especially under pressure. That is why simply playing more does not always fix them.
A coach gives you an outside view. Instead of judging every round by the result, they can watch the process: where you stood, what information you had, what options were available, and why you chose one path over another.
Once the pattern is clear, the fix should be practical. You need a replacement habit, not just criticism. For example, if you overpeek after gaining an advantage, the replacement might be a pause, a reposition, or a call for support.
- Name the habit clearly. You cannot fix what you cannot describe.
- Replace it with one action. A new habit needs a simple trigger.
- Review it regularly. Pressure can bring old patterns back.
Breaking a habit takes repetition, but the right feedback makes that repetition much more useful.
